PORT FLOW STUDY #2

Feb. 26 Had my second port flow study bc the oncology center is having a hard time getting a blood return. They won’t do treatments if they can’t get blood. So the study showed that everything is where it is supposed to be. They had to use the TPA again to break up the sheath at the end of the tubing, and they were able to get blood. So here’s to hoping that it works on Monday!

EMERGENCY ROOM VISIT #2

Feb.21 Went to the er again today. I have had rapid heart beat, and high blood pressure. Well and the chest pain is still happening. They gave me fluids and heart rate went down from 150s to 110. So still a little high. Right now it is 119 so hopefully that will go back to normal soon. They did a chest ct again to rule out blood clots.  So Dr. Weyburn (oncologist) called and said he will be taking out the oxaliplatin which is the one that causes cold sensitivity. So we will see if that is the reason I have had chest pain.

TREATMENT #8

Feb. 18 Yesterday was chemo #8!! Still having the pain and tightness in my chest. So the dr. Perscribed a muscle relaxer to see if that will help. So far I can’t tell if it works well enough. I know I can get through it because I am a tough bitch!! But I just wish we could figure this out! I am still so thankful for all the amazing people that are in my life!

NEW PRIMARY DR!

Feb. 13 We meet with my new primary Dr yesterday and I like him a lot. I have been on BP meds for over 10 years and he took the diuretic out of the med to see if that would help with my potassium issues! Also was told to eat a nanner everyday! Here’s to hoping that helps with the chest pain! He said consistantly low potassium can have an effect on you heart.  James attended the appointment with me (as he does with all of my appointments!!) and Dr. Weston also asked him and I how we are holding up mentally and emotionally. Which I thought was an awesome thing to include him in part of our consultation. I can’t imagine doing this journey without him. He has been my rock, my shoulder to cry on, and the one that can make me laugh! I am so grateful for all of the love and support I get from him and all of my family and friends. This journey is hard but knowing how many people are out there praying and thinking about me makes it a little easier! So thank you!

TREATMENT LUCKY #7

Feb. 3 Today is lucky #7 of kicking this cancer in the ass!! The Dr. reduced the oxaliplatin because of neuropathy so that should help with that and the cold sensitivity. We visited a place called livingwell in Geneva that is an all free cancer facility that has crafts, counseling, cooking classes, fitness, and massage. So I am looking forward to doing some of those things. I think counseling would be an amazing thing to do!
