CT SCANS!

Had to make a trip to the city today for my CT scans! On the way there I had a slight melt down! Just sad that this is my life now.. Dr. appointments, chemo, ct scans…. and so on! I know I am strong and will get through this with the love and support from my family and friends. But I am allowed to have my moments as well!!!

BIOPSY NEWS!

May 26 Well this is the second time I don’t have great news! The first is when I found out I had this terrible thing inside me and now the liver Dr. said that I have 80% fatty liver which is not good. Now it changes his plans for my resection. He didn’t say it wouldn’t happen he just said they will have a different approach. He also wants to wait until he has my CT results to decide what the action plan is. My CT scan is this Thursday so I’m sure I won’t have answers until next week!!  Keep sending me your good vibes!!!

LIVER BIOPSY!

May 12 Today we traveled to university of chicago to get my liver biopsy. He was able to go in but when they took me back he was not allowed. They took 3 samples the first one didn’t hurt but the 2nd and 3rd ones hurt more and I was awake for the whole thing! I will keep you all posted with the results!

CHEMO ANGELS!

May 11 Just got an email that I am done with the chemo angel program (I have 2 angels that send me cards every week and sometimes they would send gifts) as I am not recieving chemo at the moment! They said if I have to have it again I can always sign up!  Shout-outs to Jackie and Scott for the lovely cards and the Sanchez family for the custom made Rona masks, pretty awesome!

NO MORE CHEMO!

May 7 Well at least no more for now!! The university of Chicago doctors want me to stop chemotherapy to get ready for liver resection. I will be going to the hospital next Tuesday for a liver biopsy and then the end of the month for a ct of chest, abdomen, and pelvis. The liver doctor said that the left lobe is smaller than the right. The right side is the side they will be operating on so they want to make sure the left side will be able to withstand the surgery! He said it will be a 3 to 4 hour surgery and a 4 to 5 day stay at the hospital. Then a 2 month stay off of work after! That’s just what I need after being off this whole time because of the Rona!  I will keep you all posted as I learn more!

TREATMENT #9

March 2nd Today I started #9!! They cut out the oxaliplatin which the oncologist thought was causing my chest discomfort. So far I agree with him. Besides the pain I went in with it hasn’t gotten any worse! Thought we would be there less time but I was wrong because they still do the one drug that opens up the cells for the 5fu to work for the next 46 hrs!!

UPDATE!

May 1 Unhook went well on Wednesday! Still have the discomfort in the chest slightly but the steroids are helping although they have made my face puffy!  We had a video chat with the oncology doctor in chicago and suggested liver surgery. So we have a video chat with Dr. Millis on Tuesday to talk about the liver resection which should be scheduled for the middle of June! ( Just in time for my bday!) I am excited to hear what he has to say and if this will get rid of all the nasty cancer in my body!!!  Hope you all are staying safe and I will keep you updated!!
